6-Year Maintenance and 12-Year Testing
For stored-pressure dry chemical extinguishers, NFPA 10 sets internal maintenance every 6 years and a hydrostatic test every 12 years. The 12-year test resets the clock, so a unit tested at year 12 is not due for internal maintenance again until year 18. We plan both so your extinguishers stay in service.
